One Piece's worldwide launch and April's restricted list

OP-15 arrived on 3 April 2026, and it arrived everywhere at once.
Adventure on Kami's Island covers the Skypiea arc, Luffy against Enel, and it is one of the first main boosters to launch on Bandai's worldwide simultaneous schedule. That ends the months-long gap that used to separate Japanese players from everyone else, and it changes how pre-orders work for the rest of the year.
January's OP-14 set the tone.
The Azure Sea's Seven released in English on 16 January 2026 with 157 cards plus a DON!! card, folding in the first half of Extra Booster 04. The headline pulls were the manga alternate-art Secret Rares, Mihawk and Crocodile. A 157-card checklist is large for this game, and it is the kind of product that sells boxes to collectors as much as to players.
February brought a tighter product.
EB-03, the One Piece Heroines Edition, released on 20 February 2026. Extra Boosters are deliberately narrow pools, which means fewer dead cards per pack and a much shorter chase list. If you want every pack to feel like it has a shot, that is the format to buy. If you want variety for deckbuilding, main boosters still win.
Know what a case actually contains.
A One Piece display holds 24 packs. English packs contain 12 cards and Japanese packs contain 6, so the same display is 288 cards in English and 144 in Japanese. Retailer listings for the OP-14 era put cases at 12 displays. If you are buying sealed to hold, buy displays rather than loose packs, because loose stock from a searched case is a real risk in this game. Check the factory tape on any carton before you trust the displays inside it.
Then the restricted list landed.
Bandai announced the update on 31 March 2026, and it took effect on 10 April in North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. The change was a banned pair rather than a straight ban: OP07-115 I Re-Quasar Helllp!! and EB04-058 Borsalino cannot sit in the same deck.
Why that pair.
In its own note, Bandai said the combination showed up in a wider variety of decks than expected, particularly those including Yellow, and pushed game times significantly longer than the design intends. Banned pairs are the tool the developers introduced specifically so that a problem interaction can be broken without deleting a fan-favourite card outright. Each half remains legal on its own.
Charlotte Pudding stays gone.
OP06-047 sits on the banned list after an April 2026 addition, with Bandai's stated concern being the hand-size mind games the game is built around. The broader banned list still carries long-standing entries such as Reject, OP06-116, and Trafalgar Law, ST10-001. There is currently no one-of restricted category in the format.
What it means in practice.
Yellow loses its most reliable way to drag a game long, and long-game builds around it need a new plan. Expect aggressive red and blue shells to test that space first, and expect cheap counter and removal pieces to climb in singles price as lists settle and demand concentrates. That is a demand pattern to plan around, not a prediction of results.
The singles market splits, as always.
Manga alternate-art Secret Rares in this game hold value because they are short-printed and visually distinct, while base Ultra Rares and Super Rares from a heavily opened set drift down within weeks. The April list did nothing to change that. If you are buying singles off the back of a ban announcement, buy the interaction pieces that become necessary, not the art you like.
Keep an eye on the extras.
Premium Card Collections, double pack sets and anniversary products are announced between main sets, and they routinely sell out on pre-order before the booster does. For sealed buyers, the pattern to watch is that Extra Boosters and anniversary products go quiet long before the main sets do.
What is next.
OP-16, The Time of Battle, is scheduled for 12 June 2026 and returns to the Paramount War, one of the strongest themes Bandai has to work with. Between the worldwide launch schedule and the new banned-pair tool, the second half of the year should be easier to plan for than the last two. Boxes of OP-15 will remain in distribution for months, so there is no need to pay a launch-week premium to secure one.
